Every time you are stopped in traffic practice this simple BREATHING TECHNIQUE:


  • Take a deep breath.

 

  • As you inhale, feel your chest and belly expand.

 

  • Then as you exhale, breathe out all your traffic-related stress.

 

  • If you have the time, take another deep breath, again focusing on letting your chest and belly expand.

 

  • Feel how this deep breath fills your lungs.

 

  • When you exhale, let another layer of traffic stress leave your body and mind, leaving you energized, yet calm.

 

  • When you start going again, keep this feeling of alert calmness with you.

 

Each successive practice builds on the prior ones, giving you a stepwise de-stressing process.

 

You may even find that you look forward to the next red light!!
